POP ART
POP ART is an art movement that start around the 1950's. This movement focuses a lot on subjects and images of popular culture. Few of the famous artists from this art movements include Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
The Visual Arts Photography class imitated the style of Andy Warhol's Pop Art composition altering the hue and saturation. The photography students also used basic digital editing skills to alter its scale as well as copy and paste to create the repetitive composition.
Few of the ART I students created a parody portrait painting by basing their portrait off of the artist Roy Lichtenstein. He is known for painting images to look like a comic book using Ben Day dots. Ben Day is named after Benjamin Day who came up with the technique of using colored dots to create an optical illusion to establish a new color similar to Pointillism.
